Mastering samurai combat in Ghost of Tsushima requires both sharp reflexes and a deep pool of Resolve to heal and execute special attacks during battles. Completing Bamboo Strikes across the island provides a reliable way to expand Jin Sakai's capabilities while encouraging thorough exploration. Players who test their speed against these training posts will gain significant tactical advantages in combat encounters.

Understanding Bamboo Strikes and Core Combat Benefits

Bamboo Strikes are quick-time event challenges that require players to input a sequence of buttons in rapid succession. Succeeding in these trials increases Jin's total Resolve capacity, giving players more resources to heal or perform powerful techniques. Each completed challenge moves you closer to unlocking maximum combat efficiency throughout your journey.

For those looking to track every location, navigating the island efficiently makes a massive difference. You can check to help plan your routes effectively. Practicing the button sequence beforehand allows you to slice through the bamboo bundles on your first official attempt.

Act 1 Izuhara Bamboo Strike Locations

The first region of Tsushima contains seven distinct Bamboo Strike locations scattered across its various prefectures. Key locations include Hiyoshi Springs, Ariake, Azamo, Tsutsu, Komatsu, Kashine, and Komoda. Finding these early training spots gives Jin a solid foundation before facing tougher enemy encampments.

Exploring settlements and talking to local NPCs will often reveal the exact coordinates of nearby strikes. Taking time to complete all seven in Izuhara substantially boosts your survival rate during early boss encounters.

Act 2 Toyotama and Act 3 Kamiagata Locations

As the story progresses into central Tsushima, Toyotama offers six additional Bamboo Strikes for players to discover. These locations include Akashima, Umugi, Yarikawa, Kushi, Kubara, and Otsuna. Navigating through dense forests and coastal villages will lead you directly to these hidden training grounds.

The northern, snow-covered region of Kamiagata holds the final three base-game Bamboo Strikes located in Sago, Kin, and the Endless Forest. Furthermore, players who venture onto Iki Island in the expansion can locate four extra Bamboo Strikes to further refine their skills.

Final Completion Rewards and Achievements

Beyond the incremental Resolve boosts earned from each challenge, finding all sixteen main-game Bamboo Strikes unlocks a special reward. Players who complete every strike will receive the Sacred Mountain Messenger mask as a cosmetic trophy. Finishing these activities is also required for unlocking the Body, Mind, and Spirit trophy.

Ultimately, seeking out every Bamboo Strike serves both functional and completionist goals for dedicated players. Maximizing Jin's Resolve transforms challenging combat encounters into fluid displays of swordsmanship.
